"Har Ghar Diwali" initiative by Maika Sweet Home

The video documents the initiative by Maika Sweet Home to bring the spirit of Diwali to underprivileged families by distributing decoration packs, lights, and diyas (oil lamps) to those who cannot afford them. The project, titled "Har Ghar Diwali", aims to illuminate the homes of marginalized communities during the festival, spreading joy and hope. The team initially gathered 100 packs and planned to distribute them in batches of 20 to 50 across various slum areas. The video captures the excitement and reactions of recipients who often lack basic festive decorations due to financial constraints.

However, the distribution faced challenges, including chaotic crowd behaviour and resistance in some areas, which led the team to shift their focus towards smaller, more manageable groups like e-rickshaw pullers and vegetable vendors who also live in slums. Despite setbacks, the team remains committed to their 10-day mission with a target of reaching 10,000 families. The video also highlights the emotional and social struggles involved in doing charitable work, such as dealing with skepticism, misunderstandings, and the difficulties of organizing such efforts in crowded, sensitive environments.

Throughout, the video emphasizes the importance of community support and empathy, urging viewers to recognize the hard work of marginalized workers and to contribute to making a difference. The project is portrayed not only as a charitable act but as a mission to restore dignity, joy, and festive spirit to those often forgotten during celebrations.
