Harvesting Joy: Lohri's Cultural Delights at Sweet Home Maika NGO
The Lohri event was held on January 14, 2023, with the primary goal of introducing children to the rich Punjabi culture and traditions. Among the festivities were:
Children gathered around a bonfire to mark the end of winter and the beginning of spring. While singing traditional songs, they put offerings into the fire.
Dance and music: The children showcased their talent and excitement by performing traditional Punjabi dances bhangra and giddha.
Prasad distribution: Special Lohri sweets were distributed, and a nice feast was prepared for all people living there.
